We learn about........

May The Lord (Ganesha) who has a huge body, curved elephant trunk with a brilliance equal to billions of Suns, always remove the obstacles from my all endevours!

In tune with the tradition in India, let us start our first lesson in Samskrita Veethy with prayers to Lord Ganesha to make our learning journey obstacle free. Learners are requested toन chant the sloka along with the prayers to Parvathi and Parameshwara. You can hear the recitation on clicking the above sloka!!

Sanskrit alphabet is divided into two groups Vowels (स्वरवर्णा:) and Consonants (व्यञ्जनवर्णाः) as in any other language. Vowels and Consonants are also commonly called as Ach Varnah अच् वर्णाः and Hal Varnah हल् वर्णाः based on Panini's Sutras. We at SamskritaVeethy use Devanagari script in our lessons in tune with the common practice in India. Each letter in the alphabet is given in Devanagari script and paired with the equivalent IAST (International Alphabet of Sanskrit Transliteration) letter to understand the pronunciation by relating to English.
